Auditioned for BodyVox yesterday and was CUT.
...And then, UN-CUT. I'm serious. Always go to thank the directors, people! They make mistakes too.
They were very polite and gracious and thanked us all for coming and really took the time to look over our resumes and head shots. They then continued to call out the numbers of the people who they wanted to stay and learn repertoire and do some improv.
My number wasn't called so I went up to both of them to shake hands and thank them and as I was walking away to grab my bag, I heard the woman who is the artistic director say to the director of BodyVox 2 "Wait, I didn't cut her." So, he came running up to me and said "I made a mistake, we want you to stay."
Hoookay. I mean, it was almost 8pm and I was ready to finally eat the lunch that was still sitting in my dance bag, but I guess I'll put my shoes back on ; )
The rest of the audition went well. There was lots of improv and and kooky theatrical stuff and then at the end they talked to us to get to know our personalities a little better. Overall, it was a good audition and I'm glad I went but I'm not sure that it is something I would enjoy doing for a long period of time.
