I finished my dance day with Pilates at 3:00 and am so excited to go see my friend, Ramona, in the "Come Fly Away" tour tonight. She was a senior dance major at NYU when I was a freshman and I look up to her so much! She is an exquisite dancer and performer. From the looks of it, I'm going to look like a snowman by the time I walk to the theatre though.
Nothing too exciting going on this weekend except the Hubbard Street summer intensive audition on Sunday. I did see Hubbard Street's "Danc(e)volve" last night at the Museum of Contemporary Art and it was absolutely beautiful. It's an evening where the dancers of the main company and the second company showcase their own choreography on each other. All I can say is that Chicago is lucky to have such a brilliant group of artists because the quality of work is second to none and I'm so happy I was able to see it with my fellow scholarship girls (and Ivan!).
The only problem for me is that when I see Hubbard Street...I want to do work like that.
When I see Broadway...I want to do work like that.
When I see Cirque du Soleil...I want to run away and join a circus.
Lucky for me, it's out of my hands. So, at least, the odds are good that if I keep working hard, whatever it is that lands in my lap is going to make me happy.
