hello world!

Here in my own little corner of cyberspace I am going to do my best to open everything up and share bits and pieces of my, not so exciting (at the moment!), life. I've been wanting to do this for a while, but I have to tell you, my good old Moleskine gets the best of me. There's something about pen and paper that a blog just doesn't do. I'm hoping this time around might prove me wrong.

Let me introduce myself for those of you who don't know me:

1.) May 2011 College Grad
2.) Living at Home
3.) Living at Home...In the Suburbs

Need I say more?

I moved back home after spending college in New York City, and don't get me wrong, I am very very thankful my parents are letting me live at home and are taking care of me when they really don't have to be! But, the Midwest is the Midwest and NYC is well...NYC. Everyone asks why I left and the answer isn't a simple one, because I really could have stayed and would have loved nothing more than to stay. In fact, it probably would have been easier to stay, but I knew it wasn't the right thing for me to do at the time. I wasn't ready to start working three waitressing jobs and five bartending jobs in order to pay for half of what rent would be costing to live in the city. On top of that...when would I have the time to take class and stay in shape to actually audition for the jobs I want in the city? It's a vicious circle.

SO-here I am. At home. In the suburbs. Granted, I am able to dance A LOT here. And I sure am thankful for that, but some days it feels like I took 30 steps backwards from the life I was living in New York. That's where this blog comes in. I am going to chart my journey out of the deep dark hole that I like to call the suburbs. Here we go. One day at a time!
