Breaking Pointe

Not going to lie, I have this one set to record and am excited to see the first episode tonight. I like the fact that it's about a real ballet company (Ballet West in Salt Lake City) with real dancers and that it's (hopefully) going to be accurate in it's display of what really goes on behind the scenes.

Doctor visit went well.

He wants me to take two to three weeks off to get the inflammation down. I have a cyst on my bunion which he gladly offered to drain with a PVC-pipe-sized needle. I think the reaction on my face told him a pretty clear, "No freaking way."

He was worried that it could have been a hairline fracture but due to it's distance from my joint, and the ultrasounds, it's not probable that it is. Basically, I'm not going to die, but things aren't going to get any better either. The craziest thing is that he had a hard time seeing through the ultrasound at some points because there is so much muscle in my foot.

All of these issues come with the territory and I need to be gentle and patient with myself. Patience. Patience. Patience. What a wonderful thing I am yet to learn.
